Prof. Indira Chowdhury is the founder-director of the Centre for Public History at the Srishti-Manipal Institute of Art, Design, and Technology in Bangalore. She has a Ph.D. in history from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. She set up the Archives of TIFR and had interviewed Professor Govind Swarup for the TIFR Oral History Archives between 2005 and 2006. She has compiled an archival book on Homi Bhabha titled A Masterful Spirit: Homi Bhabha 1909-1966 (2010) and also authored an institutional history of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research titled, Growing the tree of science - Homi Bhabha and TIFR.
