Inhabited Silences

You are now invited to a journey across a collection of sounds, objects, words and maps brought back by an explorer of unknown territories.
The inhabited silences question travel as a state, what being in a landscape and digging into it means; and how the places we find ourselves in pervade body and consciousness.
Which lane, which composite landscapes take shape and assemble under our feet, as we wander in a World where the faraway can be so close and the nearby so distant?
Anti-travel of modern tourism. Illegal border crossing. Which great explorations might still be ahead of us?

The installation is like a palimpsest which evolves with each place where it is shown. It plays with the arbitrary nature of those places, as an echo to the arbitrariness of our personal trajectories. Sound materials are sampled in the exhibition places or in the surrounding environment; as are the raw materials, plants or minerals.
The cartographies are freely inspired by the topography of the places. New poems will be added to the collection along the way.
