29 April 2023. This tune hails originally, I believe, from Cape Breton but has spread throughout the trad music world to appear in lots of different repertoires. It used to be a great favourite with a bunch of fiddlers who played at sessions which were very active in this part of South East London during the late 1990s/early 2000s. Some players find the c naturals in the second part a little too cute/cloying/annoying. Others relish the chance to savour those slightly jarring notes. You will, of course, make your own mind up! :-)
