Kingman Turquoise was discovered by ancestral native americans over a thousand years ago and was mined for decorative and ceremonial purposes.

In the late 1880s, prospectors stumbled upon the vibrant blue nuggets of turquoise while searching for gold. This discovery led to what is considered the most productive turquoise mine in America.

Kingman turquoise is prized for its sky blue color with black spiderweb matrix, and was featured in the iconic Tiffany’s catalog as jewelry in the 1890s.

But after nearly a century of intensive mining, the Kingman mine was declared commercially depleted in the 1970s. The mine is still productive but on a very small scale, and the iconic blue stones with black matrixing have been completely mined out.

Because traditional Kingman Turquoise is no longer being mined, it is becoming increasingly scarce as collectors and jewelry makers covet the rare stone. This is driving up the prices making Kingman Turquoise a legendary worthy investment.
