Brent Mason on Recording with Alan Jackson

Описание к видео Brent Mason on Recording with Alan Jackson

Earlier this year, Brent Mason, one of the most recorded guitarists in history, took the Museum’s Ford Theater stage for “Nashville Cats," a special programming series that highlights stories from session musicians who have played important roles in country music history. Mason is a two-time CMA Musician of the Year, eleven-time ACM Guitarist of the Year, and a Grammy Country Instrumental of the Year award winner.

"We're chameleons," says Mason of session players, "We play on something and make it sound like that's what we play all our lives." He goes on to describe his musical relationship with Country Music Hall of Fame member Alan Jackson, particularly, how the long guitar solos he contributed to Jackson's songs, including megahit "Chattahoochee," were designed to encourage dancing.
