I've compiled a few clips of one of Americas forgotten guitar hero's, Neil Levang. Highlighting some of his greatest moments and hopefully bring his history to some of todays younger pickers. Check out those vintage Fenders! Not to mention that 12 string Gibson B45 and Epiphone Emperor.

Please like and share with someone that can dig!

#NeilLevang (1932 – 2015) was an American musician. In 1948, living out of Riverside CA at the time (born in North Dakota) Levang appeared with Foy Willing and the Riders of the Purple Sage, as well as Jimmy Wakely and several other country swing bands of the time.

Levang joined the United States Coast Guard in 1951 landing him in Seattle, Washington. There he gigged the scene playing with "Texas Jim Lewis and his Lonestar Cowboys". Also hosting his own radio show.
In 1959, he was hired as a guitar and banjo player on The Lawrence Welk Show when Buddy Merrill left to serve in the US Army. Levang was hired on permanently even once Buddy came home in 1961. Levang stayed with the Welk Band until its final show in 1982.

He was also an accomplished studio musician, playing on several records for artists such as #GlenCampbell, #FrankZappa, #BobbyDarin, #BobbiGentry, #DavidClaytonThomas, #NealHefti ("Batman Theme"), #ElvisPresley, #Dean#Martin, #NeilDiamond and #NoelBoggs.
