To commemorate World Competition Day, CUTS International, CUTS Institute for Regulation & Competition (CIRC), and COMESA Competition and Consumer Commission (CCCC) organised a webinar on “Artificial Intelligence, Consumers, and Competition Policy” on Friday, December 05, 2025 from 1500 to 1630 hours (IST).

World Competition Day is celebrated on December 05 every year to commemorate the adoption of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices (commonly known as the UN Set) on this day in 1980.

Dr. Willard Mwemba, Chief Executive Officer, CCCC; Odie Strydom, Managing Director, Betweenity; Rahul Rai, Partner and Co-founder, Axiom5 Law Chambers; Leonard Otuonye Ugbajah, Council Member, ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority; and Hemangini Dadwal, Senior Partner (Competition/Antitrust), AZB & Partners were the Panellists in the session which was moderated by Kazim Rizvi, Founding Director, The Dialogue.

Varidhi Singh, Director and Ujjwal Kumar, Associate Director, CUTS International delivered Welcome Remarks, and Vote of Thanks and Closing Remarks respectively.
