Backstage at Lollapalooza, Chicago rapper, activist and teacher Pinqy Ring met with Vocalo mornings host Bekoe after teaching kids about hip-hop at "Kidzapalooza," the festival's kids programming, all weekend. They also delve into the origins behind her name, her community work, the importance of empowering the next generation through hip-hop and being her authentic self despite adversity. Pinqy Ring was voted Chicago's best hip-hop artist by the Chicago Reader, and was recently awarded an IAP Grant by the city to continue her artistic work. She's also set to speak at TEDx Chicago on October 6.
