Oggi vi parlo del BGD Base 3, un parapendio EN-B che mi ha davvero sorpreso. In questo video vi racconto perché, secondo me, è uno dei più riusciti nella sua categoria: un equilibrio perfetto tra prestazioni, sicurezza e puro divertimento.
Cominciamo dalla stabilità in volo accelerato: con il speedbar spinto al massimo, il Base 3 resta composto e stabile. Nessun comportamento nervoso, nessun accenno di chiusura anche in aria attiva. È una vela che dà fiducia, che ti permette di spingere quando serve, senza farti lavorare troppo mentalmente.
In termica, poi, è dove dà il meglio di sé. Preciso, intuitivo, ti permette di centrare il nucleo con facilità e girare anche stretto senza mai perdere efficienza. Il comando è diretto ma progressivo, e ti senti sempre in controllo. Il risultato? Salite pulite, poco stress, e tanta soddisfazione.
E non posso non parlare del feeling: il Base 3 è semplicemente divertente da volare. È giocoso, comunica bene l’aria, ma senza essere mai imprevedibile. Perfetto per i cross, certo, ma anche per chi vuole godersi il volo, fare un po’ di dinamico, o semplicemente sentirsi connesso alla vela.
Tecnicamente, ci sono tante soluzioni ben studiate: le bocche d’entrata sono ottimizzate per mantenere pressione anche a bassi angoli d’attacco, il profilo è pulito, e l’insieme di linee è ridotto all’essenziale. Il risultato è una vela efficiente e agile.
In sintesi, il BGD Base 3 è una vela pensata per piloti in crescita, che cercano qualcosa di più di una EN-A, ma che non vogliono rinunciare alla sicurezza passiva. È solido, preciso, divertente e tecnologicamente ben progettato. Un’ottima scelta se vuoi un compagno di volo affidabile che ti accompagni nella tua evoluzione, senza mai annoiarti.

Let’s start with stability at speed. With the bar fully pushed, the Base 3 remains solid and composed. No twitchiness, no signs of collapse even in active air. It’s a wing that gives you confidence—one that lets you push when you need to, without constantly having to be on edge.
Now, when it comes to thermalling, this is where it really shines. It’s precise and intuitive, allowing you to find and center the core effortlessly and turn tight without losing efficiency. The brake input is direct yet progressive, and you always feel in control. The result? Clean climbs, low workload, and a ton of satisfaction.
And then there’s the fun factor—honestly, the Base 3 is just a joy to fly. It’s playful, it communicates the air well, but never in a harsh or unpredictable way. It’s perfect for cross-country flying, of course, but also great for just enjoying the sky, playing in dynamic lift, or feeling truly connected to the wing.
Technically, BGD has done a great job: optimized leading edge intakes that maintain pressure even at low angles of attack, a clean profile, and a streamlined line setup. The result is an efficient and agile wing.
In short, the BGD Base 3 is ideal for progressing pilots who want more than a basic EN-A but aren’t ready to compromise on passive safety. It’s solid, precise, fun, and thoughtfully designed. A great choice if you’re looking for a dependable wing to grow with—one that’ll keep you smiling in the air.
