In this episode of Fix The Buggy Habits, I share a lesson from my work as a software engineer on a large-scale SaaS product. A simple misconfiguration in a feature flag accidentally exposed an unreleased feature to every customer — a reminder of how even small mistakes can have big consequences.

The issue came from a single config change: "enabled_for": ["*"]. Instead of being limited to internal testers, the feature was suddenly live for all users in production. Customers started noticing half-baked UI elements and incomplete menus, unintentionally giving them a glimpse of our upcoming roadmap before it was ready to launch.
