歴史：京都の御岩神社は御岩山に位置し、その起源は古く、秦氏によってこの地域から追われた紀伊氏によって創建されたと伝えられています。秦氏は近くに伏見稲荷大社を創建しました。応仁の乱（1467～1477年）の際に火災に見舞われましたが、19世紀後半に再建されました。

意義：この神社は、深刻な健康問題、特に結核を治癒する力があることで知られていました。著名な後援者の一人に、画家の堂本印象がいます。彼は病気の母の健康を祈願し、独特の石造りの鳥居を寄進しました。

​History: The Oiwa Shrine in Kyoto is located on Mount Oiwa, and its origins are ancient. It was reportedly started by the Kii clan after they were displaced from the area by the Hata clan, who founded the nearby Fushimi Inari shrine. The shrine was damaged by fire during the Onin War (1467-1477) but was restored in the late 19th century.

​Significance: The shrine was known for its reputed power to heal serious health issues, particularly tuberculosis. One notable patron was the artist Insho Domoto, who donated a pair of unique stone torii gates after praying for his sick mother's health.

​Current State: Unfortunately, the shrine has fallen into disrepair and is largely abandoned. After the priest passed away around 2014, there was no one to take over, and a lack of funds led to its decline. The ruins of the shrine, including the unique torii gates and overgrown paths, give it an eerie, mysterious, and somewhat melancholic feel that attracts hikers and those looking for a different kind of experience.
