Travellers are capturing colourful photos at a countryside field where sunflowers stretch as far as the eye can see.

The scene is part of Glenbernie Family Farms, a sustainable veal and flower producer in Kurmond, a village of 852 just over one hour's drive west from Sydney CBD.

Many have showcased the spectacular sight in videos which have gone viral on social media, but you'd better be quick if you want to see it in person.

A post on the farm's Instagram page earlier this week revealed there's only a few weeks left before the end of the NSW sunflower season, which typically wraps around late May.

Entry is free and visitors can pick sunflowers for $2.50 a stem, along with a selection of other flowers such as dahlias, cosmos and zinnias.

Australians have been visiting the field to quench their thirst for unique experiences while the country's international borders remain closed, with any reopening beyond New Zealand's trans-Tasman and other 'safe' travel bubbles unlikely until mid-2022.

Dozens have raved about the farm online, with one woman calling it her 'new favourite place in NSW'. 'Lovely little farm. Beautiful flowers and friendly staff,' said wrote. Another added: 'Such a good location for a photoshoot!'

Attractions like Glenbernie Farm are welcoming record numbers of visitors as Australians continue to seek out domestic distraction until overseas travel resumes.
