This was a private match that took place after midnight at the start of April 1st, 2022. And, in this match, I try out Knights and Faeries, another Chaos Mutator for Fool's Gambit.
At the start of a Knights and Faeries match, you choose whether to be Guardian (knight) or Aurora (fairy), and that's who your unit will be for the entire match, so the character you actually chose on the Deck Builder screen beforehand won't matter. (I chose to go with a Guardian, while Flandre chose Aurora.)
Guardian's stats:
5 HP, +1 ATK, +1 DEF, -1 EVD, 6 REC.
Gain level x 1 additional stars whenever you KO an NPC from a Battle panel.
Aurora's stats:
5 HP, 0 ATK, 0 DEF, +1 EVD, 4 REC.
+1 to movement rolls. Heal self by 1 HP, or revive self with half HP, during even-numbered chapters. If not KO'd and standing on the same panel as other active player(s) at the end of your turn, each active player on the panel recovers 1 HP. For each other player you heal, gain 5 stars.
(Kinda works like Natsumi's passive healing effect.)
These two characters come with new music as well, which is cool. (I wonder if they'll become permanent normal choosable units to the roster after the Fool's Gambit event ends?)
Also, all Hypers drawn during this mode will be random, and every few turns, a random NPC player unit will spawn on the board, which could be any of the regular characters, or perhaps the enemies from Bounty Hunter mode. They go away when KO'd, or after 9 chapters pass. Also, they seem to be overly aggressive (even if it's a Poppo with just 1 HP left that will happily suicide on my Guardian). Even Chef can appear in this way (which happens at 17:31), and this might be the only way to view its Unit card (which I show at 18:18).
One nice and funny thing is that the summoned NPCs can and will fight amongst each other. It's neat when a game allows enemy in-fighting to occur, and opens up additional strategic possibilities.
I wonder if any other "unexpected event" that could've occurred didn't actually happen in this match... Also, achievements are disabled with Knights and Faeries too.
Oddly, while this mode is named "Knights and Faeries" (with the "Fae" spelling), when choosing your unit at the start of the match, you pick between "Knights" and "Fairies" (with the "Fai" spelling). Just a minor thing.
What isn't minor, however, is a glitch that somehow caused Flandre to take an extra turn at one point, starting at about 15:03. I heard a "death" sound effect (probably from the summoned NPC Mousse whose time was up), and then the camera locked on the NPC Emerangler for a moment. After that, Flandre took a turn, then the chapter changed, and Flandre went again consecutively! So, something must've glitched up regarding the summoned Mousse's time expiring somehow.
Participants in this match:
Player 1: Remilia, as Aurora.
Player 2: Me, as Guardian.
Player 3: CPU Guardian.
Player 4: CPU Aurora.
Map: Over the Sea.
Lobby: Chaos!
NOTE: I started getting lag at one point. I decided to pause the recording at about 19:37, and closed my open Firefox browser during that pause to hopefully mitigate the lag.
