MegaMari - Psycho Anxiety 💉 ~ Reisen Udongein Inaba's Stage (SNES Remix)

It's been over 3 years, and I never realized I haven't done a single MegaMari theme, despite having done a ton of Touhou and Mega Man music in that time.

Reisen's pretty awesome and cute (and badass, of course). She's easily one of my favorite Touhou characters from one of the coolest games in the series.

MegaMari is a... mess of a Mega Man fangame. It takes massive inspiration from Mega Man 2 in terms of its level ideas while giving it a spin, and while that probs got a good chunk of people reading this right now rolling their eyes, that's not the issue. It's main issue is that a lot of the game's challenge comes from a lot of bullshit level design involving enemy placements that make no sense in context of the situation, bosses with tough patterns to dodge, and only being able to get half the special weapons in a single run. Look, I know Mega Man 2 wasn't exactly the best game ever, but it wasn't THIS bad.

It's a nice attempt from Twilight Frontier as they were probably fans of the series and wanted to fuse that love with another series they're familiar with. I'd totally love to see another attempt at a Mega Man fangame from them, but alas this is the only one we have from them and it's filled to the brim with problems to the point where the only thing that makes playing this game worth it is its soundtrack.
