Hey Campoholics! Ever come across a Trashed Campsite? Bad Campground Etiquette? While staying at Gifford Pinchot State Park in PA, I was out doing my morning power walk and I came across a vacant site that had just been left by the previous tenant. Trash in the site parking spot caught my eye. As I looked closer into the vacant site I could easily see the camper did not care about cleaning up the site. Trash was all over the site and along the waters edge. The site tag stated that they were to check out the same day, so I figured I would give them till check out time at 3 to maybe come back and clean it up, although it was clear they had checked out. We went back at quarter till check out time and it was still not cleaned up. What's troubling is that the campground host put up the new reservation card on the post but did not inspect the site. We decided to take matters in our own hands and clean it up and report it to the Park Rangers and hopefully they will investigate further. How would you handle this?
