Snowballs recipe
What you'll need
8 and 1/2 cups purified water (Treated with reverse osmosis) to freeze
2 cups purified water (Treated with reverse osmosis) For syrup. If you're already using premade syrup, you can omit the addition 2 cups water to make the syrup for this recipe.
1/4 cup sugar
2 and 1/2 cups sugar (To make the syrup) If you have the premade syrup, you can omit this amount of sugar to make the syrup.
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
Two 16-onces Styrofoam cups (To add the shaved ice)
Five 16-ounce plastic cups (To freeze the water)
1/2 teaspoon each of Snow cone syrup (Blue bubble gum) concentrate or flavored Kool aid pack (Tropical punch). If you're already using premade syrup, you can omit this ingredient from the recipe.

Tools you'll need
11 by 17-inch baking pan (To transport the cups filled with water to freeze)
Cheese shredder (To shave the ice)
9 by 13-inch-deep dish foil pan. (To store the shaved ice)

Freezing the water
Step 1- Add 8 and 1/2 cups purified water, 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons light corn syrup into a large bowl. Stir all ingredients together. Pour the water into five 16-ounce plastic cups. Place the cups onto an 11 by 17-inch baking pan. Place into the freezer overnight. 12 to 14 hours.

Making the flavored syrups
Note- If you are using premade snow cone syrup, you can skip this step.
Step 2- Add 2 cups purified water (Reverse osmosis), and 2 and 1/2 cups sugar into a medium-sized bowl. Stir all ingredients together with a whisk until combined.

Tep 3- Pour the syrup into 2 separate bowls. Add 1/2 teaspoon tropical punch Kool aid pack into one bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon Blue bubblegum snow cone flavoring into the other bowl. Stir all ingredients together.

Cream flavored syrup
Step 5- Add 1/3 cup whole milk (Room temp), 2 and 1/2 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract into a medium-sized bowl. Stir all ingredients together until the sugar has dissolved into the liquid. Add 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk. Stir all ingredients together until combined and set aside.

Shaving the ice
Notes- Do not attempt to shave the ice in a hot kitchen. Make sure your kitchen is cool, or room temp. Make sure you wear a mitten and vinyl glove to protect your hands from getting cold or from injury.

Step 6- Add the cheese shredder into a 9 by 13-inch foil pan. Put on a mitten and a vinyl glove onto your right hand.

Step 7- Remove the frozen water from 1 cup. Place one directly onto the cheese shredder and move the cup of frozen ice in an up and downward motion moving very fast. If you hand gets tired, you can take a 1-to-2-minute rest before shaving again. Only shave 5 cups of the frozen ice at a time and take a rest afterwards.

Step 8- Once you shave all 5 of the cups of frozen ice. Add the shaved ice into two 16 fl ounce cups. Carefully add the shaved ice past the top of the cup. Form the shaved ice into a volcano-like shape. You can also place a funnel upside down on top of the shaved ice to form a volcano like shape.

Step 9- To decorate the snowball, add each cup individually onto a shallow bowl. Pour the prepared snow cone syrup (2/3 or 3/4 cup) on top of the shaved ice. You can also add different flavors to the snowball by pouring 2 or 3 different flavorings of the snowball syrup on top of the shaved ice.

Note- The snowball is best served right after you have shaved the ice, added and shaped in on to the Styrofoam cup and the snowball syrup poured directly on top.
