What an amazing experience, sailing down the Hudson and through New York city. Again we had some high headwinds in New York harbor but we made the best of it and as we rounded the buildings we had just enough with the motor on to hold a tack. At one point we had to tack across directly in the channel and across the path of ferries and it felt like total chaos but somehow an organized chaos.

In the middle of that the Coast Guard decided to board us and inspect our documentation, safety items and ensure we were good sailors. I support the Coast Guard and what they do, a very vital part of marine safety.

After all that we made it to Sandy Hook and decided to tuck into Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club where we picked up a mooring, got provisions and walked the town. We waited out a huge storm and then got ready to leave for our 1st ocean sail in Northern Comfort. We're pumped!
