breeze through: succeed at easily

Let's flip through the channels to see what's on TV.
At the bookstore they don't mind if you flip through books before buying them.
flip through: look quickly through a book, magazine, etc.

We have to crack down on illegal trading.
These days the police have been cracking down on texting while driving.
The new boss is cracking down on coming late, so you'd better be on time.
crack down on: to enforce the rules, take severe measures against

How many times do I have to tell my neighbor to pipe down?
I had an important exam to sudy for, so I told those kids, "Pipe down!"
I wish those guys would just pipe down!
If you have something to say, say it now or pipe down.
pipe down: be quiet, lower the tone

It was impossible to come up with a really satisfactory solution.
I wish I could come up with a good answer to the question.
come up with: think of, invent, create

May I call on you again?
I would like to call on you one of these days.
call on: visit; ask, request

Why don't we all chip in thirty dollars?
chip in: contribute money or pay jointly

You should brush up on your French.
brush up on: review, relearn or practise

Tom waited for the applause to die down before he announced the next song.
die down: fade, ebb, subside, diminish
