In a cash sales entry, there are two main types of records involved:

Cash Record – This records the receipt of cash from the customer for the sale of goods or services.
Party Record – This records the transaction with the customer (party) if needed for tracking purposes, even though it's a cash transaction.

In Tally Prime, when recording a Cash Sales Entry, two records are maintained:

Cash Record – To track the inflow of cash.
Party Record – If needed, to track the customer (optional in cash sales).

Cash Sales with Party Record (Customer Tracking)
Go to Gateway of Tally → Accounting Vouchers → F8: Sales
In the Party A/c Name, select the Customer’s Ledger instead of Cash
Under Sales Ledger, select the Sales Account
Enter Item details, quantity, and price
In the Narration, mention that it is a cash sale
Save the voucher

Then, record a receipt entry (F6) to clear the party balance:

Viewing Cash and Party Records in Tally Prime
To View Cash Transactions:
Gateway of Tally → Display → Day Book

Filter transactions for cash

To View Party Ledger:
Gateway of Tally → Display More Reports → Ledger Accounts
Select the Party Account
