Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Committee Lower Subansiri Unit :
After completion of all legal procedures and departmental inquiries confirming the illegal construction of a masjid, the District Administration has failed to initiate the next lawful step—demolition. During a formal meeting, officials stated that action would be “more efficient” only upon receiving orders from higher authorities, reflecting administrative indecision and abdication of responsibility.
In view of this continued inaction, the Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Committee, Lower Subansiri District Unit, has issued a ONE-WEEK ULTIMATUM, expiring on 20 January 2026. If no lawful action is taken within this period, the Committee will be compelled to call a 24-HOUR BANDH on 21 January 2026, which may extend into an indefinite bandh until due process is enforced.
The Chairman of the Committee has also categorically clarified and dispelled misinformation being circulated by an individual claiming to be a social activist regarding the handling of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) issue. The Committee reiterates that ILP is a serious legal, administrative, and constitutional matter, and irresponsible or misleading narratives only weaken the collective cause.
The Committee’s stand on ILP remains clear, lawful, and guided by facts, procedure, and the larger interest of the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh. The public is urged not to be misled by unverified claims and to rely only on official statements and resolutions of the Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Committee.
