Peder Roberts (KTH, Stockholm and Stavanger, Norway), "Floating Ice Islands and Cold War Oceanography: Infrastructure in Search of a Purpose" 17/01/24
Roberts is an expert in how politics and science shaped polar history. He is the author of many books and articles on the subject, including The European Antartic. Science and Strategy in Scandinavia and the British Empire (2011) and the edited volume The Cambridge History of Polar Regions (2023). He was the IP of the ERC-funded project Greening the Poles: Science, the Environment, and the Creation of the Modern Arctic and Antarctic.
