Today, I'm talking to you Visionaries. I want to address the question I'm getting about Fractional Integrators. Really, the question is, what is a Fractional Integrator? And how does that work?

What we're seeing in the marketplace, and in smaller companies, is that certain dynamics cause this to show up. Number one, they just to bring on a full time Integrator. They're looking for a different type of solution. The second scenario is that the role of Integrator, due to the scale of the organization, just isn't a full time role yet. It's something smaller. Most of the time, in a situation like that, the Visionary or another member of the leadership team is covering that Integrator seat in addition to whatever other seat they're sitting in on the Accountability Chart.

If you have no one in the organization capable of serving that Integrator role, I want you to think about your Accountability Chart™. Think about what you need out of the Integrator seat. If the Visionary, or the other leaders in the organization, cannot effectively bring that capability to that seat, I want you to recognize that you do have a void there. When you have a void, it's something you need to address.

A little tangent alert. One of the other questions I get is, “Can someone fill that Integrator seat remotely?” The answer is yes they can - as long as you're rock solid on the Five Tools first, and then on the Five Rules.

A Fractional Integrator is certainly better than no Integrator. Something is better than nothing. To get you moving along this path, I'd like you to refer to our resource list. We've got some great folks that you can talk to, learn more about this, and see if it might be a fit for you.

Three points to conclude:

1. Fractional Integrators can work. I actually have an example where a company brought one in and grew by 1400% in three years.
2. Something is better than nothing. I'd love to see you get started - really embrace and be effective by filling that Integrator function as soon as possible.
3. This assumes that you have a void and don't already have somebody that give you what you need in that seat.
