I was okay before he told me I wasn't doing things right.
You see I was fine before they told me I'm not fine.

You see it wasn't what I did that was wrong anymore, it was me.
Sometimes I don't even know if I'm right until someone tells me.
Unknowingly I compared myself,

That's when things went bad.
I fell prey to the gratification, their validation brought.
No, that can't just be. No, I won't let them define me. I won't let them tell me if I'm worthy.
Their statements, yes, that's what they are, statements. They could be true they could be false. I decide, whether to accept it or not. I decide that not them
