Assembly Speakers from all the 8 Northeast states are set to move the Centre on the issue of racism. The Speakers are set to submit a memorandum in this regard to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
The decision was taken during a video conference meet between all the Assembly Speakers of the region. The virtual meet was chaired by Arunachal Speaker Passang Dorjee Sona.
Besides, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Speaker Om Birla, the matter will also be taken up with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Venkiah Naidu.
