This recipe combines luxurious dark chocolate, creamy milk, and subtle aromatic touches to create a treat that’s perfect for the most wonderful time of the year.

Ingredients
1/2 cup heavy cream
6 oz dark chocolate, chopped (use a bar with at least 70% cocoa for a rich flavor)
1 to 1 1/2 cups whole milk (use 1 cup for thicker hot chocolate, or 1 1/2 cups for a lighter version)
2 tbsp brown sugar (adjust based on your sweetness preference)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Optional holiday spices: a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom (for a festive touch)
Whipped cream, shaved chocolate, or even crushed candy canes (for garnish)

Directions

Before you start, chop the dark chocolate into small pieces for easier melting. Measure out your ingredients and keep them nearby. Using high-quality chocolate will make all the difference in achieving that luxurious flavor.

In a medium-sized saucepan, heat 1/2 cup of heavy cream over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
