While touring, artists create "Riders", or documents with all their touring requirements and requests. Some are on the technical side, and are related to things like transportation and stage set up. The more interesting side, which is the hospitality side, contain requests regarding any food, toiletries, furniture, or decor the artists want in their dressing rooms or hotel rooms. Some of these demands are insane, like red toilet paper, a flown-in pingpong table, 20 kittens, and hair clippers. In this video, we'll talk breifly about the history of tour riders, a neat trick Van Halen used with their rider in the 80s, and riders from artists including Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, The Weeknd, Future, and others.
