The Lamborghini Reventon made its debut at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, wowing the press and public alike. It was an ultra-exclusive model based on the Murcielago LP 640-4. Its name comes from a notorious fighting bull owned by the Don Rodríguez family in the 1940s-it is one of the most popular bulls of that era, primarily because of its famous battle against the famed matador, Felix Guzman.

The fabulously angular body style, which takes after motifs from advanced stealth fighter jets, was designed at Centro Stile, Lamborghini's design department. The aerodynamic design was completely redone using carbon fiber for all of the outer body panels, and the new style of this radical car later carried over to that of the Gallardo LP560-4 and the Aventador LP700-4.

The basic design of the faithful and vaunted V12 engine that had been a Lamborghini trademark since the company was founded was further refined to produce 9 HP more than the LP640-4, for a total of 641 HP.

The Reventon was a very limited production car, with only 20 examples produced, and its one-million Euro price tag added to the car's allure as it was the most expensive Lamborghini in history at that time. Two years later, at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, a convertible version of the car, called the Reventon Roadster, was unveiled, and again only 20 of these cars were ever produced.
