Bloc Party - Positive Tension Drum Cover

This is a couple days late, but oh well!

Last Saturday marked 10 years since the release of Bloc Party's truly fantastic debut album, "Silent Alarm." It's tough to put into words, but to call this record "formative" or "meaningful" or "important" in my life barely does it justice. It is without a doubt my favorite album of all time, and I carried it with me through adolescence, college and beyond. But even more than that, without "Silent Alarm" I would not be the person, music fan, and drummer I am today. Without this record, you wouldn't be reading these words or watching this video.

I can point to the exact moment when things changed for me. I remember being 12 years old, sitting in my old living room, while my beginners' Peace drumkit sat upstairs collecting dust. And then I heard Matt Tong's drum fill towards the end of "This Modern Love" (3:54 - 3:58) and thought... "I want to do that." And I never looked back.

Since I've already covered that one, I thought I'd put up another one of my favorites from this record. I'm actually quite pleased with how this one turned out, and I think I put a good amount of passion and energy into it. But no video or essay could ever fully express how much this record has changed my life. If you haven't heard it yet, take an hour and put it on. It might just change yours.
