"What I do best is my evening wear and when I am doing that I use a lot of, you know, motifs which are inspired by glitter diamonds and everything, so if you see each piece, it has some amount of jewellery look happening in it. So yes, that has definitely helped me, yeah."

"I think in India today, the Indian fashion designers have become a force to reckon with and we are not going to be completely swamped with just the foreign designers coming in because the indigenous design has grown and has grown very fruitfully in the last ten years."

NEW DESIGNERS LAUNCH COLLECTIONS AT INDIA FASHION WEEK
Day three at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2008 belonged to the newcomers.
Four designers made their debut - each as different as the other.
While Elisha Wadhwani's collection reflected chic, Gauri Bajoria's collection was bohemian.
Elisha graduated from the London College of Fashion and then did a course in accessories and jewellery design from the National Institute of Fashion Design, New Delhi.
She told AP her jewellery designing skills come in handy while designing clothes.
"What I do best is my evening wear and when I am doing that I use a lot of, you know, motifs which are inspired by glitter diamonds and everything, so if you see each piece, it has some amount of jewellery look happening in it. So yes, that has definitely helped me, yeah."
Her collection aims to bring out the diva in a woman with its embellishments and design elements.
A total of ten new designers are debuting at the week in a tribute to ten editions of the fashion week.
It is a long journey that the fashion week has traversed, a journey that has united the fashion industry and given it one voice, says the prima donna of Indian fashion- Ritu Kumar.
The first fashion week took place in New Delhi in 2000 and had a total of 33 designers participating.
Since last year, the organisers now have two week long events a year showcasing the autumn-winter and spring-summer collections.

Two designers- Manish Arora and Anamika Khanna- will be showing at the forthcoming Paris Fashion week. Another, Rajesh Pratap Singh, will be showing the Paris Fashion week in March next year.
