My heating system is now working but it's even colder outside.. so if you see blue shades in my hands, it's real.. even the clavichord was fighting against the external forces and the extremely dry air, so you may hear some 'lament' here and there..

J.S. Bach walked 250 miles from Arnstadt to Lübeck on foot, to hear Dieterich Buxtehude (1637-1707) play and probably to have lessons with him. Dr Schallenberg in his short biography of Bach says of Buxtehude: '..a man of great originality and inventiveness, averse to conventional formulas..' potentially referring to his style of performance on the organ. No wonder Bach stayed in Lübeck three months instead of one, which caused him no little trouble with his employers once he was back in town!

This C major suite BuxWV 230 is opened here with a prelude by Henry Purcell (1659-1695) present in a British Library manuscript. This is A WORLD PREMIERE ON CLAVICHORD🥳 for this Prelude (a public recording on harpsichord already exists)
