The Yellow Owl will be a familiar fly for many anglers, it is amongst my favourite flies and I have enjoyed many a day afloat fishing this pattern. I can't say to why it is so effective perhaps it is that general profile that imitates so many hatching insects. None the less I would not be without these in my box.
