I remember it like yesterday. In my youth I was plagued with occasional insomnia. I would toss and turn, changing position and location to minor avial. What I found myself doing moat often was simply watching Tv until I would happen to daze out of consciousness. It was during one of these occasions when I stumbled across a piece of media that would change my life forever. It was a movie with Jack Black, Steven Martin and all about birding. It was the Big Year.
Well I like to bird. I like to bird watch. I like to be outside. I like to travel so why not bird watch while I'm traveling. It's really the best if both worlds. I just hope that I can see some incredible birds that I've seen in the past. I literally just saw for the first time in the wild some Trumpeter Swans and like quite a few of them. It was of course in December 2025. Oat Well. So far I have already seen over 17 species and I'm going to see many more I hope. I would love to be over 200, I don't know maybe I'll be even higher!
In this video I am in a local park but I manage to spot a Mockingbird, Cardinal, Turkey Vulture, Dark Eyed Junco, Red Bellied Woodpecker, Tufted Titmouse, and a Crow. I had also seen a mallard previously. I see many little brown birds but I do not feel confident identifying them so I can not in good conscious claim them. There is many many different ways to get outside so I hope you get outside today! Thanks for watching!
