I guess this far in after the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and Pokémon Champions turning up real soon, there won’t be any plans to allow more Battle Courts to online play. I still don’t know why most of the others are not available to play online, and after attempting to look it up, I don’t think there are that many people too concerned about it that no one else seems to be asking it. I still think it’s a shame that they went through the effort of making a lot of eye-catching locations all around Paldea, then later the Blueberry Academy, only to be used once or not at all.
The Chargestone Cavern battle court, for instance, not only calls back to Chargestone Cave in Unova, but the Crystal Colosseum in Pokémon Battle Revolution.
I hope Pokémon Champions gets more varied backgrounds. It was built as a battler from the ground up, so whatever they implement in should be available for online play. They’re not going to have just that one setting in the teaser trailer, will they?

My opponent had a propensity for using Spiky Shield, with both Glimmora and Ogerpon using it to test the waters—I can see the logic in that, considering all three Pokémon I selected (Iron Jugulis less so than the others) are pretty far off the beaten parth and likely aren’t showing any adherence to any online guides to using them. I can’t say I saw their uses of Spiky Shield coming, considering Shell Smash is what I would usually use when Magcargo first shows up; the only thing I did here that really needs explaining was my use of Scale Shot on the first turn, as I had predicted Glimmora would be faster (it’s not) and carry a Focus Sash (I can’t be sure about this one).
Really, with Veluza, despite its overworld behavior around Lake Casseroya and Pokédex and name talking about its Speed, its Speed is not that great and needs to be adjusted with its own moves. (Methinks Veluza was faster during production, they thought it might be too good due to the Speed-boosting moves it can learn, most notably Fillet Away, and toned down its Speed drastically, way too much if you ask me.) Veluza already has glass cannon stats, so a move like Scale Shot that deals damage, then boosts Speed in exchange for Defense, is not a bad deal. A better deal than Fillet Away, if you ask me, which takes away half its HP and renders it unable to withstand any moves afterwards, worse than the Defense drop if you’re slower than the target anyway.
The reason for the Terastallization for Shelby (Magcargo) is in the event that Chien-Pao is not knocked out or manages to go first, I figured the move selected would be Sacred Sword. The Tera type for Magcargo renders her weak to Ice though, so any subsequent attack from Chien-Pao would surely be an Ice-type on and a knockout.
