In this video, I'm excited to introduce an essential upgrade for your Longmill MK2 and Longmill MK1 CNC Router: the much-improved Anti-Backlash Nut.

Sienci Labs, the maker of the Longmill CNC router, made a serious improvement to the existing fork-style anti-backlash nut by changing the way it grips the lead screw. It is not only a much-improved design to remove backlash, it also has better wear characteristics due to the even compression it applies to the screw. All of which leads to smoother cuts and overall operation of your Longmill CNC router and your CNC woodworking projects.

CORRECTION: The anti-backlash nuts are made of Delrin, a much better material than Nylon

What is Backlash in CNC Routing?

Backlash refers to the slight movement or play between the CNC router's lead screw and nut. This can cause inaccuracies in your cuts, affecting the precision and quality of your woodworking projects. Backlash is a common issue in CNC machinery, but with the right components, it can be significantly reduced.
