Summary :-
Anna (F, 34) is married to Smith (M, 39). They have two children, Samantha (F, 9) and Alexa (F, 7). Although they dated for a long while before finally deciding on marrying, Smith’s parents took their sweet time in accepting Anna. However, on discovery that she belongs to a well-off family, she was readily invited as a part of the family. This acceptance had to do a lot with the financial stability that Anna promised to their family. Although Smith seemed little interested in her money, he soon grew dependent on her as well.
The major money related conflict starts from Amelia (F, 35), Smith’s younger sister. The woman quickly befriended Anna when her brother and she were dating and when she was sure she had gained her confidence, she asked for some money to start her own business. Anna, especially on Smith’s insistence, lends her money. However, the moment Amelia’s business flops, she starts distancing herself from Anna. She gives excuses about how she could possibly return the money as well. She never returns the money. This creates a little rift between Anna and Smith.
What’s more, Smith does not pay much attention to their children either. He had promised at first that he would but by time he stopped taking responsibility. When Anna asked for a day off from both her professional and personal life, Smith made excuses that he was busy. He wastes his weekends and spends little time with their daughters. While they are dealing with similar issues, Amelia comes back with another request. This time she needs money to buy land. Anna refuses to lend any money. This brings tension within the family, and now even the elder Smiths have started poking their noses in their personal business.
Anna thinks this is all there is to this family, but then she finds out that Smith has not been faithful to her for some years. After this, she decides to take action on the entire Smiths. The family of her ex-husband, ironically, do more damage to themselves than Anna does. By the time she cuts off the ties with Smith, his family is left with little of what they were.
