Short video of a Virginia gobbler that crossed 250 yards of open field, strutting all the way but not gobbling once. I yelped and cut with an Ed Terefencko one-sided box call and that clearly got his attention. This bird even refused to pop out of strut as he was next to the Avian-X hen decoy. I gave him three "putts" trying to get him to stretch his neck but he didn't so...broadside it was in strut. With the Longbesrd XR #5 shot and Extra-full choke in the Mossberg 535 at 28 yards, all shot concentrated in head and neck - not a single pellet in any breast meat. He was a decent 3-year-old bird. It did have a damaged spur so that might be one reason why it was reluctant to gobble. There was another gobbler in the woods behind me and he was sounding off. I probably should've waited to see if both would show up but, you know, sometimes the chip-shot gobbler in front of you is just too easy to pass up. Loving spring turkey hunting. Be safe. Have fun.
