New bands come and go. This is the natural course of things in today's music. And let's face it: the "natural" musical is already almost completely exhausted. So having a new band, how can you stand out? Simple: make a good "recycling"! Based on this principle, some new bands out there making music with a quality far superior to that of bands that try (unsuccessfully) to do something really new and good. Among these bands, we Hogjaw the Americans, who just released "Devil in the Details" (2008), their debut album.
The style? Let's try to imagine a kind of very rustic Black Label Society, which brings the main influences: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet and The Allman Brothers Band. Indeed, it is not the most original mix of the world, since the Hogjaw plays basically a heavier southern rock. But when you start to hear the opening track "4 Lo", the listener is impossible not to be swayed by the catchy "groove" music, and then become interested in what comes next ...

Bandas novas vêm e vão. Esse é o curso natural das coisas no atual cenário da música. E vamos encarar os fatos: os "recursos naturais" musicais já estão quase totalmente esgotados. Então, tendo uma banda nova, como você pode se destacar? Simples: faça uma boa "reciclagem"! Partindo desse princípio, algumas bandas novas por aí fazem música com uma qualidade infinitamente superior à de bandas que tentam (em vão) fazer algo de realmente novo e bom. Entre essas bandas, temos os americanos do Hogjaw, que acabam de lançar "Devil in the Details" (2008), seu álbum de estréia.
O estilo? Vamos tentar imaginar uma espécie de Black Label Society bastante caipira, que traga como principais influências: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet e The Allman Brothers Band. Realmente, não se trata da mistura mais original do mundo, visto que o Hogjaw toca basicamente um southern rock mais pesado. Mas, ao começar a ouvir a faixa de abertura "4 Lo", é impossível o ouvinte não se deixar levar pelo contagiante "groove" da música, e então ficar interessado pelo que vem a seguir...
