Sri Lanka had elected to bat first in their maiden Test match but were soon in trouble losing four early wickets for 34 runs. In walked an 18-year-old Arjuna Ranatunga who took on England's Ashes hero Ian Botham and Bob Willis, one of the quickest bowlers at that time. He went onto score Sri Lanka's maiden half-century. Here Arjuna recalls the support he received from captain Bandula Warnapura, his close friendship with Ranjan Madugalle and lots more.
