Ingredients:

1. Wheat flour: 2 cups
2. Ghee (clarified butter): 1/2 cup (for dough) + 1/4 cup (for churma)
3. Jaggery: 1 cup (grated) or sugar
4. Cardamom powder: 1/2 teaspoon
5. Dry fruits: 1/4 cup (finely chopped, such as almonds, cashews, pistachios)
6. Milk: 2-3 tablespoons (if needed)

Method

1. Prepare the Dough:

Begin by mixing 1/2 cup of ghee into the wheat flour. Mix well until the ghee is fully incorporated, and the flour can hold its shape when pressed in your fist.Knead the flour into a stiff dough using water or milk.

2. Make the Baafla (thick roti):

Roll the dough into thick rotis (flatbreads) and cook them on a hot griddle over low heat until partially cooked on both sides.

After partially cooking, deep-fry these rotis in ghee until they are golden and crisp. Let them cool.

3. Prepare the Churma:

Once cooled, break the fried rotis into small pieces and grind them coarsely in a blender. Transfer this churma to a large bowl.

4. Mix Jaggery:

In a pan, heat 1/4 cup of ghee and add the grated jaggery. Melt the jaggery over low heat until fully liquefied.

Pour the melted jaggery into the churma and mix thoroughly.

5. Add Dry Fruits and Cardamom:

Add cardamom powder and finely chopped dry fruits to the churma mixture. Mix everything well.

6. Shape the Ladoo:

Allow the mixture to cool slightly so it's easier to handle. Then, take small portions of the mixture and shape them into round ladoos. If the mixture is too dry, you can add a little milk to help bind it.

7. Garnish:

Once the ladoos are formed, garnish them with some more dry fruits if desired.

8. Serve:

Your delicious Churma Ladoo is ready to be served. You can enjoy them immediately or store them in an airtight container for a few days.

Tips:

If you prefer sweeter ladoos, you can increase the amount of jaggery.

You can also use pure butter (makkhan) instead of ghee for a richer flavor.

These ladoos are not only tasty but also nutritious, making them a perfect treat for festivals and special occasions.
