NIGHT TRAP is an extremely famous full motion video game by Digital Pictures, originally released on the Sega CD in 1992. It also found its way onto the 3DO, Mac, Sega CD 32X and PC. In 2017, a 25th anniversary edition featuring multiple extras and better video quality was released on Playstation 4, Windows and the Switch. This video shows the original 3DO version.

In the game, you are a member of SCAT (aka the Special Control Attack Team - seriously, stop laughing already). Your mission: To surveil a bunch of teenage girls during a house party and protect them from vampire-like creatures called augers that are out to suck their blood and kill them. To accomplish this, you are given control over eight cameras (that show different rooms of the house) and multiple traps (that you can trigger to catch the augers). Multiple plotlines unfold simultaneously and it's up to you to be at the right place at the right time to catch as many augers as possible. If any of the girls falls prey to the augers or if you fail to trap enough enemies, the game is over.

NIGHT TRAP might look primitive and easy but if you have ever tried to seriously play and finish the game yourself, you know how hard and unforgiving it is. Even with a good walkthrough it's really difficult to not miss one of the augers.

This is my first attempt at a perfect playthrough (all 95 augers have been caught). Nevertheless, I tried to show as much of the actual story on the side as possible. By no means am I an expert of the game, so I probably could have shown much more of the plot if I knew when and on which cam specific scenes are shown. I originally planned to do a Sega CD 32X playthrough, so I might upload another (better?) run on that system at a later point.
