Nashville Comedian Danae Hays Announces Split from Wife Mandie | Heartfelt Message to Fans

After four years of marriage and creating hundreds of TikTok videos together, Nashville comedian Danae Hays and her wife, online fashion influencer Mandie Kaii, announced their separation online on Friday, August 30.

"We are both deeply saddened to share that we have decided to go our separate ways," the couple wrote in a brief statement shared on their TikTok and Instagram accounts.

Hays, 31, gained popularity with her comedic videos, often poking fun at her Southern upbringing in Alabama, amassing more than 3 million TikTok followers. Earlier this year, she began touring comedy clubs and theaters across the South and Midwest.

Her videos frequently featured her wife, with the two playfully portraying exaggerated versions of themselves—Hays as the more down-to-earth, redneck type, and Kaii as the girly-girl Californian. In their joint statement, the couple explained, "This decision did not come easy as we both have so much love and respect for one another. But it is truly what is best for both of us."

Hays did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Tennessean. The couple, both former college softball standouts, first connected through private Instagram messages in 2016. Fans on social media expressed shock at the news, with many hoping it was a prank.
