Studio Effects Episode 4: Distortion, Bit Crusher & Downsampling

Описание к видео Studio Effects Episode 4: Distortion, Bit Crusher & Downsampling

Distortion is in common parlance as a thing people understand to mean that something like a phone or TV is struggling to reproduce sound properly, or that if the truth isn’t being told, it’s “distorted”. It means anything that is different coming out to that going in.

In music, distortion usually involves overloading an audio circuit, which in turn creates artificially higher harmonic content of the incoming signal. There are several types shown in this video, including distortion (bi-polar transistor), overdrive (FET) and of course guitar amplifiers. This also includes bit crushing and down sampling.
