BBC weather legend Carol Kirkwood revealed today that she will be stepping back from her role on the BBC in April after more than 25 years with the broadcaster.

The presenter appeared tearful as she announced the news live on air on Tuesday, after delivering the latest weather bulletin, joining presenters Sally Nugent and Jon Kay on the programme's sofa.

Since she made her debut as the main BBC weather presenter in 2010, Carol's BBC career has regularly seen her go above and beyond the use of a clicker.

With that, she's had a number of memorable moments, reporting live from the likes of Chelsea Flower Show, Wimbledon and Royal Ascot - and not without a few mishaps.

From being dragged to the ground by dogs on multiple occasions, and laughing off an awkward moment where she called local park-goers 'doggers' in Greenwich Park, she's provided ample laughs for viewers.
