MEC516/BME516 Fluid Mechanics, Chapter 3 Control Volume Analysis, Part 10: The general Energy Equation. The Bernoulli equation is extended to include the effects of pumps, turbines and pipe friction. The topics of hydraulic power and pump/turbine efficiency are covered. A sample problem is solved for a system with a hydraulic turbine. This is followed by a discussion of the types of hydraulic turbines that are used for hydroelectric power generation.
