In order to land a consulting job at McKinsey, BCG or Bain, during the consulting recruiting process, you will need to pass a series of business case interviews. During the pandemic, the consulting case interviews were moved online; now many consulting firms run a hybrid model, often inviting you to take at least your first business case interview online, before you get advanced to the personal interview stage.

It is very common that you start solving your consulting case study by asking your interviewee for some silent time to structure your approach to the case. Afterwards, the critical moment comes where you are supposed to present it.

In my own consulting candidate coaching sessions, I very often observe that candidates present their initial thoughts online in the same way they would do offline, namely flip the piece of paper and talk the interviewer through it. However, this just does not work when being interviewed online. In this video, I therefore share a simple hack that I also teach my YOUinConsulting coachees and that will dramatically improve your online presentation and thereby help you stand out during your consulting case online interview!
