Kharaba village is located in Palkana area near Kirkuk, before 2003 Saddam Hussein (Ba'ath) regime destroyed the village and expelled the Kurds and seized all their agricultural lands gave them to Arabs.
But after 2003 when USA removed Saddam Hussein ,the Kurds liberated the city of Kirkuk, the indigenous of Kharaba village returned and rebuilt their village and lived peaceful life, but in October 16th 2017 the Iranian-backed militias with Iraqi forces launched a violent attack against the Kurds in Kirkuk and invaded the town, Arabs came back again claiming that they are the owners of those lands who Saddam gave them.. The Kurds are hoping that the international community helps them to solve their problems in the disputed territories and stop the demographic changes against them.
