Q. Can I omit the Emulsifying Wax?
A. It is one of the most important ingredients as it emulsifies the oil and water phase together

Q. Can I replace the Emulsifying Wax?
A. The only thing you can substitute this ingredient for is beeswax.

Q. What is the purpose of Citrus Seed Extract?
A. It acts as a natural preservative.

Q. What's the shelf life of this cream?
A. It should last around 6 months and even longer if refrigerated.

Q. Can I leave this unpreserved?
A. You can, but you'll have to keep it in the fridge and use it within a month.

Q. Is the essential oil necessary?
A. No. It's purely for added scent.

Q. Can I use this at night?
A. Absolutely.

Q. Can I use another oil, other than olive.
A. Yes! I recommend Shea Butter, Coconut Oil or Sunflower Oil.

Q. Can I substitute the water for Aloe Vera Juice.
A. Definitely. It turns out very nice!

Q. Can I use this if I have oily skin.
A. Cleanse your face. Then use a toner (this step is very important). Then use the cream.
After cleansing, your skins first thought is to produce more oil. Toning will suppress that reaction.

STEPS

1. Measure out your oil and emulsifying wax into the same bowl and set aside.

2. In a different bowl, measure 2 tbsp of bottled water.
Using normal tap water can have impurities in the water can spoil the cream.

3. Place a small about of water into the bottom of a saucepan and bring to a gently boil.
Put both of your bowls into the saucepan.
The oils need to be melted and the bottled water needs to be hot.

4. Once the emulsifying wax has melted, pour in all of the water into the oil.
As you stir, it will cool down, thicken and become a white colour.

5. When the cream is thick, you can add the additives.
You'll need to add a tsp of citrus seed extract to the mix to preserve it.
I also added about a teaspoon of vitamin E oil for nourishment and rose essential oil for scent.

6. Spoon the mixture into small jars and then tap the jars on the bench to remove air bubbles.
