Описание к видео Launch of the Financial Inclusion Strategy Jordan

Greater access to and usage of financial services stimulates growth and employment and reduces socio-economic inequalities, objectives affiliated with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2015, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) embarked on a national policy process for enhancing the financial inclusion of all segments, mainly the youth, women, refugees, low-income people, and businesses, to unleash their development potentials.

At the Financial Inclusion Policy Forum in Jordan, on December 4, 2017, the CBJ released the 2018-2020 Financial Inclusion Strategy for Jordan. The strategy covers the priority policy areas: Digital Financial Services; Microfinance; Small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) finance; Financial Consumer Protection; Financial Capabilities; Data and Research; and Financial Technology.

The national strategy formulation was led by CBJ in cooperation with GIZ, the German Development Cooperation, and with the support by the EU. The event was held in cooperation with the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF).
