STORYLINE
Israeli forces attacked a Hamas target in Gaza City on Thursday, sending a large plume of smoke into the air, witnesses said.
Hamas said one of its bases was attacked, but said there were no casualties.
Rescue workers said four civilians were slightly injured by flying glass and debris.
The Israeli military confirmed it had hit Hamas emplacements.
Elsewhere, in central Gaza, Palestinian security officials said Israel had carried out an airstrike at another base, but no one was hurt.
Also on Thursday, Israeli troops in the West Bank arrested more than 30 senior Hamas members, including a Cabinet minister, legislators and mayors, pressing forward with an offensive against the Islamic militant group.
