Описание к видео Surviving WWII Sailor from USS Hornet (CV-12) Worth Goble

Worth Goble was part of the original crew aboard the USS Hornet (CV-12). He worked in the island superstructure taking care of the radar. He had a front row seat to flight deck activity and was an eyewitness to history. From the ship's commissioning, to kamikazes and typhoons, Worth Goble was there. After the initial sea trials with Air Group Fifteen, he watched combat flight operations in the Pacific of Air Group Two, Air Group Eleven, and Air Group Seventeen. These three Air Groups earned Hornet CV-12 three Presidential Unit Citations.
